Thank you for your order , (if you are on this page because you have aborted your checkout, we hope to see you again soon when you are ready to order!) If you are sending us an image, please note that we cannot produce your canvas before we receive payment.
If you are sending lots of files it might be easier to 'zip' them all together. Please don't worry if you get no confirmation from your computer that the upload has completed. We will contact you if we have not received your image within 24 hours of the order. |

I have a digital photo, what format does it need to be saved in? We acccept Jpeg files or you may send us .tiff, .psd ,raw or any other file type that can be read by Photoshop. Files should ideally be saved as 300 dpi (dots per inch) to retain the quality of the image and a minimum of 1Mb in size.
I don't understand/care about digital files specifications, can I still send it in? Yes of course, we will look at the image for you and advise whether it can be used.
I started my upload, then surfed the ‘Net while my file was uploading. When I went back to my "send this file" page, the upload had quit. Once the upload starts, the browser that started the upload must remain open until the upload is finished. If you want to surf the 'Net while youre uploading a file, click on "File >> New >> Window" (in Microsoft Internet Explorer) and use the new browser that opens to surf the 'net.

Files for digital printing
If you are ordering canvases or calendars please just send the photo files (as jpeg, tiff or .psd) for use in our templates.
Otherwise, you are welcome to send us your own designs and we can output from many applications but prefer InDesign, Quark xpress, Illustrator and Photoshop
Vector based programs
Illustrator and Freehand are vector based programs (with the capability to add raster images). Vector artwork can be scaled infinitely without any loss in detail as the curves, lines and text (when converted to paths) have a mathematical formula built into them, no matter how you stretch it and resize it, the output will always be smooth.Vector based artwork therefore has no resolution and does not need any other intervention other than selecting the right colours in the CMYK palette.
Raster based Programs
Photoshop and Paintshop Pro and are raster based. When dealing with photos or artwork constructed in programs like Photoshop, the correct resolution needs to determined at the start, this should be usually 300dpi in order to maintain a good clean image. You cant successfully add resolution to an image without losing detail, but when printing large images we do have the ability to bump it up a little. Large posters are usually viewed from a certain distance so any jaggies are not noticeable and in the case of large banners, a file size of one fifth of the final size can give good results and save lots of file size.
Publisher, Powerpoint, Excel, Word: If you really have to use these programmes for page layout please be sure to include any fonts that you are using in your document. These programs are not the typical page layout programs and do not warn of any missing fonts, the program just does its own substitution and we CANNOT be held responsible when this occurs. It will be a great help to send a hard copy or pdf file in order to check that content has been preserved.
If at all possible, please send us the file in Adobe Acrobat PDF file format. If you are using Adobe Acrobat Distiller, make sure you do not have Downsampling turned on (after all, you have been working at the correct resolution, you dont want Acrobat to take it away!), and make sure no bitmap compression is used to ensure the best quality images. Include ALL fonts. Do not allow font substitution. With all these parameters checked, output should print as you intended. |
